Virtual Connection Through Yoga
I’m proud to share that a few months ago I graduated from my yoga teacher training and recently had the opportunity to teach my first classes as an official RYT-200! I have really wanted to be able to keep sharing yoga with people right now, especially during this time of unprecedented challenges and uncertainty in our lives. So, I decided to offer some donation-based virtual yoga classes, offering different styles of yoga, and where each class benefits a different charity.
At first I felt bummed about not getting to start my journey as a teacher with in-person classes, but after teaching the first of these virtual class offerings this morning, I am feeling so inspired, invigorated, and grateful. I got to experience the sense of a yoga community and us all sharing this sacred space together. I was able to be present and really draw my attention to what was happening right in the moment, in front of me, with a bunch of wonderful students. And, I was so blessed to feel the love and support from friends near and far. It felt so fulfilling getting to see people I simply haven’t been able to see and engage with in person, and whether they live a 2 minute walk away, a 20 minute drive away, or a few hour plane ride away, it felt wonderful to have their presence and support and a live human connection with people I care about.
I know it can be frustrating to live our lives limited to interacting primarily through screens, but today I am feeling so very grateful for the ability to do that in a way that keeps me connected to others, and for the people who took time out of their busy lives to share their practice with me.

I’m so glad you had this experience. Hopefully, one day I’ll get the chance to tune in and attend!
